Come Visit Santa’s Castle!

Y2Y Providing Tours of Santa’s Castle

Dover Youth to Youth is hosting its 11th annual Santa’s Castle at the McConnell Center in downtown Dover on the two weekends before Christmas. Each night children and their families will be able to tour several rooms in Santa’s Castle and meet Santa and many of his elves and other costumed characters.

During the first weekend the event will be held on Saturday and Sunday December 16th & 17th between the hours of 2 – 6:30 pm. Over the second weekend the Castle will be open on Friday, December 22nd from 3:30-7:30 pm.IMG_0472 (more…)

NC Opioid Conference

In June of 2017 Dover Youth to Youth presented at the Opioid Misuse & Overdose Prevention Summit in Raleigh, NC. Below you will find resources highlighted during the conference workshop titled Empowering Youth as Partners in Policy Change and Advocacy. Dover Youth to Youth to Provide Adult Adviser Training

Adult Advisor Training Offered in Dover, NH
The training will take place Monday July 10th through Thursday July 13th in Dover, NH from 8am-4:00pm daily.

WHO IS IT FOR? For either: (1) adult advisers who are currently supervising an anti-drug youth empowerment program like Dover Youth to Youth, or (2) for adult staff who will be instrumental in organizing or implementing a youth empowerment program in their community or region. (3) Key youth leaders may attend in some cases if approved in advance.

Hannah Martuscello from Dover Y2Y named East Region Advocate of the Year by TFK

Tobacco- Free Kids announces their 2017 Youth Advocates of the Year, whose passion and leadership will help make the next generation tobacco-free!

They were recognized this week at our annual gala with more than 400 public health, business, civic, and political leaders present.
EAST REGION

Hannah Martuscello – 16, Dover, NH

As a member of Dover Youth to Youth, Hannah educates her peers and advocates for strong public policies. She’s gotten big results: Her testimony before the Dover City Council led to unanimous adoption of an amendment to include e-cigarettes in the city’s smoke-free policy, and her advocacy efforts led to the removal of prominent tobacco ads along the major bus route to three local schools. She also leads an annual summer training program for her youth group focused on tobacco prevention. (more…)

Dover Y2Y Celebrates 25 Years of Action

The students of the Dover Police Department’s Youth to Youth Program will highlight 25 years of efforts to prevent the harm caused by underage drinking, tobacco use, and drug misuse in Dover area with an open house at the McConnell Center cafeteria on Friday April 14th, 2017.

The event will begin at 3:00 pm and conclude by 6:00 pm.  Attendees may come and go during those times.  At 4 pm there will be a short presentation to briefly address those in attendance.  Youth to Youth members have created displays illustrating key accomplishments and examples of media, projects and programs they have conducted. Dover Y2Y Students Travel to Burlington Vermont

IMG_0706Feb. 10th, 2017 A team of six Dover Y2Y students went to work for the Burlington Partnership for a Healthy Community in Burlington Vt.   The students focused on increasing education, building skills in prevention and advocacy for middle and high school students during the two day training for the youth.

Youth to Youth Completes Webinar Series

Students of Dover Youth to Youth recently completed their 5th and final webinar of the 2016-2017 school year.  The topics that were covered this year were:  Presenting Samantha Skunk, Youth Empowerment, Policy Change, How to Conduct a Rally, and Counter Advertising Big Alcohol.  Please check back with us to see what next year’s topics will be!
