Dover Youth to Youth Summer Advocacy Training 2017

12 Adults from all over the US and 50 local students participated in the 2017 Summer Advocacy Training held in Dover NH July 10th-July 14th.

Participants had a chance to get advanced training, information and skills that they can use in their own youth advocacy group taking on the drug problem. Training included: a series of classroom and interactive sessions on different approaches for youth engagement, how to develop core advocacy skills in youth, advocacy resources, ideas about action projects, and  best practices for the administration of a youth empowerment program.

Students also received training on Presentation Skills, Media Development, and working with the press.  The students also recorded 6 radio PSA’s at the radio station..

Students had the opportunity to give the Samantha Skunk Medicine Safety to local daycares.IMG_0158

Students also had the opportunity to:

  • Prepare a press release & hold press conference
  • Present to parent group
  • Learn and perform theatrical skits
  • Group activism/prevention rally

We will be holding the training again, July 9th- July 13th 2018 in Dover NH
